The plant

Normally growing along sandy beaches and bluffs, Warrigal Greens is at home in undisturbed areas with high saline content. It has a trailing habit that forms a thick carpet over the ground and allows it to climb up structures and other vegetation. When the plant is young, it has a erect appearance.

The leaves of the plant are nearly 15 centimetres long with a bright green colour and a triangular shape. The leaves are quite thick and are covered in tiny bead like structures that look like water drops. The flowers are small and yellow and develop in to a hard thorny like seed.
